Like much else in Elden Ring, finding these talismans is often difficult - and that goes double for the Legendary Talismans you need for one of Elden Ring’s achievements.

What are the best talismans in Elden Ring?

Elden Ring’s talismans augment your abilities in a number of ways, from extending the reach of your arrows to buffing your lightning defense. Many of these are highly situational – for example, the Boltdrake Talisman won’t matter unless you’re facing a foe with lightning attacks – so we’ve opted for a few of the more universally helpful talismans.

Crimson Amber Medallion

This medallion will boost your maximum HP, and can be chosen as a Keepsake at the beginning of Elden Ring. However, if you opted for a different Keepsake, you can still get the Crimson Amber Medallion pretty early in the game. Travel to the Castle Morne Rampart Site of Grace first, shown above, and find the Nomadic Merchant in the Weeping Peninsula. Fortunately, he is right beside the Site of Grace and will sell the medallion for 1500 Runes.

Viridian Amber Medallion

Functioning similarly to the Crimson Amber Medallion, this talisman will boost your maximum stamina rather than your HP. To get the Viridian Amber Medallion, all you need to do is venture to the Tombsward Cave in Limgrave. It’s dark in here, so be sure to have a torch or lantern to hand. Defeat the boss residing there, Miranda the Blighted Bloom, taking caution of the poisonous plants around the small arena. We found that using spell ‘Flame, Cleanse Me’ helped is to remove poison build-up during this fight, and be sure to dodge or hide in the left-most corner of this small cave when Miranda goes into phase two of their fight. The boss will then drop the talisman, and fortunately, this cave can be completed rather early in the game.

Cerulean Amber Medallion

Rather than restore your HP or stamina, the Cerulean Amber Medallion boosts your maximum FP, so you can cast spells and summon spirits more often. To get this talisman, make your way to the Lakeside Crystal Cave around the south of Liurna of the Lakes, pictured above. Traverse through the cave, bringing a torch or lantern with you and something to help you resist Bleed. Ascend down the caves, using your platforming skills to jump down levels, and defeat the boss at the bottom, a Bloodhound Knight. Once felled, they will drop the Cerulean Amber Medallion.

Assassin’s Crimson Dagger

The Assassin’s Crimson Dagger can be a useful weapon, as it restores HP if you successfully land critical hits. Travel to the Deathtouched Catacombs Site of Grace in Limgrave pictured above. This is also where you can get the Uchigatana! When in the Catacombs, the door facing you will be locked. Head left of the dungeon and down to the lever, and activating the lever will then open the door from earlier. For enemies, there are a few measly skeletons that should be no issue to take on. After pulling the lever, return to the entrance of the Catacombs and head straight. The previously locked door will now be unlocked, and you can traverse the mist to fight with the Black Knight Assassin. After you fell this enemy, he will drop the dagger. For those using charged attacks, this dagger can be useful for landing powerful hits and healing before an enemy has the chance to attack you.

Arsenal Charm

If you summoned Nepehli during the Godrick fight, she’ll be at Roundtable Hold after the battle ends. Speak with her to get the Arsenal Charm, which increases your maximum equipment load. It’s not a huge buff, but it leaves you free to spend level-up points on stats that aren’t endurance for a little while.

Golden Scarab

The Golden Scarab increases how many Runes you get for defeating enemies by 20%, but it’s tough to get. It’s a boss drop in Caelid’s Abandoned Caves and not recommended until you’ve leveled up a bit. From the Smouldering Wall Site of Grace, go directly east. When you reach a big drop, look on the other side of the cliff and you should be able to see the entrance to the Abandoned Caves. Inside, there’s a lot of Scarlet Rot build-up terrain, but there’s not a huge amount you can do about it other than soldier on. To reach the boss and the Golden Scarab talisman, follow the path forward and bear right at every opportunity. Eventually you reach the dual-boss fog gate. The bosses are two Cleanrot Knights, one with a spear and one that throws magical sickles. It’s not an easy fight, but once you’ve finished, you’ll get the Scarab.

Turtle Talisman

This one is easier to obtain. Head to Summonwater Village, north of the Third Church of Marika, and you’ll find a set of stairs leading underground. The chamber has no enemies, and the Turtle Talisman is in the chest at the other end. This one raises your stamina recovery rate, making it invaluable in tough fights. Summonwater Village is in the northeast of Lingrave and the underground chest is in the northeast corner of the village.

Dragoncrest Shield Talisman

The Dragoncrest Shield Talisman reduces physical damage received, but it’s a bit difficult to obtain. Travel to the Bestial Sanctum – where you exchange Deathroot – then exit the building and turn right. You’ll see some crumbling structures below. Use the tree roots to carefully navigate your way down, and then get on Torrent. There are two more levels of ancient roof to descend, and you’ll need Torrent’s jumps to reach the tower scaffolding and ledges as you go lower. The Talisman is on a corpse at the northern end of the lower level. The trouble is this area is full of deadly bats. You can bypass them, but unless you defeat every bat, the game remains in a combat state, which means you can’t fast travel away. If you skip one, the easiest way to leave is just exiting the game.

Curved Sword Talisman

This one is much easier to find. It’s in a chest in Stormveil Castle, in the dark room where the knight ambushes you. The Curved Sword Talisman increases the power of your guard counters. Guard counters aren’t always safe to execute, but boosting their power can make a significant difference when you do pull them off.

Radagon’s Icon

Radagon’s Icon is on a corpse in the upper levels of the Debate Parlor in the Raya Lucaria Academy. From the Site of Grace, exit the parlor, turn right, turn right again, and follow the path until you reach a ladder. Climb it, enter the broken window, turn right, and you’ll find the corpse in question. This is an excellent Talisman for magic, especially Incantations, since it reduces spellcasting time.

Radagon’s Soreseal

The Soreseal is a risk-reward Talisman that boosts all your attributes, but makes you take more damage as well. Getting it is also rather challenging. Travel to Fort Faroth in Caelid - south along the road from the Bestial Sanctum - and work your way through the other end. Climb the ladder, leap across the roof, and go back down into the fort. Turn right from where you dropped down, turn around and jump across the gap, and follow the path around past the giant rats. Drop down again, and you’ll find the Scoreseal in a chest.

Blessed Dew Talisman

The Blessed Dew Talisman can gradually restore your HP over time, making it useful for healing between combat and while travelling, without having to use flasks or Sites of Grace. Before reading ahead, we should note that the Blessed Dew Talisman is found in a later area of the game. So, here’s your minor spoiler warning for the following info. Head to the Tower of Return in South Limgrave, shown on the map above, and climb it. It’s easy enough to get to on horseback, just be cautious of the archer at the top. When up here, interact with the chest. It will teleport you to Leyndell, Royal Capital. There isn’t much to do here without access to the lift, so you shouldn’t get too lost. Up the stairs straight ahead of you, there is a stone giant and a chest to the right. Open the chest, and it’ll contain the Blessed Dew Talisman, and yes, you can grab this without having fought the stone giant!

Graven Mass Talisman

The Graven Mass Talisman significantly boosts all sorceries - and without tanking your HP like the Primal Glintstone Blade does - but it’s tucked away in the Consecrated Snowfield. You’ll need to take the Grand Lift of Rold to reach it and have the Imp Ashes. Travel to the Albinaurics Rise and summon the Imp to break the tower’s seal. Climb it, and you’ll find the Talisman on a corpse at the top of the stairs.

Where are the Legendary Talismans in Elden Ring?

Elden Ring has eight Legendary Talismans, and while some of them aren’t exactly the best, they are still required to get the Legendary Talisman achievement.

Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman

This one raises your physical damage negation, but finding it is rather a chore. From the Haligtree’s Drainage Channel Site of Grace, head outside and turn left. Drop onto the tree branches, and continue forward until you see a path beneath you on the right. Drop down to that one, and then enter the church via the hole in the roof. There’s a chest in the rafters containing the Talisman.

Radagon Icon

We’ve detailed how to obtain that one above. You’ll be able to get it right after defeating the Red Wolf of Radagon.

Radagon’s Soreseal

Directions for obtaining this one are also above. It’s in Fort Faroth, near where you find half of the Dectus Medallion.

Marika’s Soreseal

Marika’s Soreseal does the same thing as Radagon’s - raising attributes at the cost of taking more damage - but this one is in the Haligtree. Take the ladder outside the Elphael Inner Wall Site of Grace, and unlock the fog door with two Stonesword Keys. There’s a boss and a handful of enemies inside, so bear that in mind.

Moon of Nokstella

Travel up the staircases from the Nokstella, Eternal City Site of Grace until you reach the cathedral. Deal with the enemies inside, and you’ll find the Talisman in a chest. This one adds more Memory Slots for spells.

Godfrey Icon

The Godfrey Icon increases the power of your charged attacks and spells, but getting it is quite the challenge. East of the Lift of Dectus is the Golden Lineage Evergaol. Inside is Godefrey the Grafted, a revamped version of Godrick. Defeat him, and the Godfrey Icon is yours.

Old Lord’s Talisman

The Old Lord’s Talisman extends the effects of your spells. In Crumbling Farum Azula, take a left where you’d normally approach the Draconic Tree Sentinel, then follow the path until you spot a ladder to your right. Climb it, then continue moving forward until you reach an area with Farum Beastmen. The chest containing the Talisman is guarded by them.

Erdtree’s Favor+2

The Erdtree Favor Talisman boosts your stamina, equipment load, and HP, but you can only find it once Leyndell turns to ashes. Take the passage outside the Forbidden Lands Site of Grace until you reach an elevator. Ride that down, and you’ll see the Talisman as a pick-up item on one of the tree branches.

How to get more Talisman slots in Elden Ring

You can only hold one Talisman at first, but key bosses drop Talisman Pouches that let you equip one extra Talisman:

Margit the Fell Omen Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon Godfrey, Elden Lord
