UFC 4, where EA recently ran in-game ads before quickly removing them, is in the spotlight again. Players have discovered a quirk that sometimes leads to their character becoming a giant. Reddit user Jblades1, playing as Tyson Fury, went into a grapple as a normal-sized person, and came out of it super-sized. As bizarre as it sounds, player comments suggest that it’s not actually all that uncommon. To see this content please enable targeting cookies. So when they grapple, both fighters turn into same standard size models,” explains Secretlyheterosexual. “This is done [to try and] avoid any kind of serious immersion breaking animation fuck ups due to size differences. Even for something like passing guards, people [would be] forced to pass guard in a different way than they normally do if their opponent is much bigger than them. Which means they need different sets of animation[s] for different sizes. “I think it can be done to a certain extant, but realistically speaking, it’s not the most cost-efficient way to spend [a] budget. [It] was [the] same in UFC3.” Though this is a very compelling explanation, it doesn’t make it any less funny.
