The Manticore Gear is found in Touissant, which only unlocks if you have the Blood and Wine expansion (which is also included in the Complete Edition.) In this Witcher 3 Manticore gear guide, we’ll be walking you through where to find every single diagram as part of the set.
Witcher 3: How to find the Manticore Gear set
The Manticore Gear is a medium armor set with attributes that benefit alchemy builds. Manticore armor increases Toxicity tolerance - perfect if you use potions frequently - and boosts resistances for piercing, bludgeoning, and slashing damage. Additional bonuses are applied when wearing either three or six Manticore Gear pieces at a time. Like the other Witcher Gear sets, you will need to find the Manticore Gear diagrams in order to craft each part of the set. Manticore Gear is Grandmaster quality, and thus can only be crafted by a Grandmaster craftsman. You can find one of those in Beauclair, Touissant’s main city. Look for Lazare Lafargue’s Workshop near the center of Beauclair. Agree to help Lafargue with a side quest that will allow him to craft your Witcher armor. During the conversation, you will have dialogue options to inquire about each of the Grandmaster quality Witcher Gear sets, including the Manticore. Ask about the Manticore set to unlock a Scavenger Hunt for the Manticore Gear diagrams.
Manticore Steel Sword diagram
To find the Manticore Steel Sword diagram, you must travel to the Bastoy Prison. Head toward the lake to the northwest of Beauclair, and head westward up the hill to reach the prison. Watch out for an Alp that lurks within the ruins. Climb the side wall and along the scaffolding to reach the top of the prison tower. Use your Witcher Senses to find the sword diagram stuck to the stone wall.
Manticore Chest Armor diagram
Travel east past Francollarts and continue toward Gelenser Farm. Head southeast of the farm, and look for a narrow canyon leading toward a cave entrance. Beware of panthers prowling the path. Inside the cave you’ll find a room with notes hung along the walls. Search the far wall for Merten’s Prayer, which is written on the back side of the Manticore Armor diagram.
Manticore Trousers, Boots diagrams
Travel northwest of Plegmund’s Bridge to reach Prophet Lebioda’s Statue. Enter the Abandoned Temple directly across from the statue construction area. Use Aard to break the cracked wall blocking the doorway in the center of the room. Go straight ahead from the entryway toward the steps, and use your Witcher Senses to find small box containing both diagrams for the Manticore Boots and Trousers.
Manticore Silver Sword diagram
Head to the Palace Gardens, south of Beauclair Palace. Continue south along the shore and look for a small inlet connected to the bay. Swim along the shore and locate a cave entrance to Murky Delve. Once inside the cave, mysterious fumes will cause you to hallucinate. Prepare to face a pair of Bruxa in the first passage. Climb up the stone platforms and pass through the corridor lined with crates. Continue through the passage, and defeat the Kikimore Workers in the next section. Climb the stone platforms to the left and use Aard to break the cracked wall. Follow the path as it curves around the right side of the pond. Near the beam of light on the far wall, you’ll find a friendly specter sitting at an altar. Loot the area around the altar to find the diagram for the Manticore Silver Sword.
Manticore Gauntlets diagram
Travel east from the Cockatrice Inn towards Basane Farm. Continue east of the farm to reach the Lake of Cleansing. Walk to the end of the dock and dive into the water. Use your Witcher Senses to find a small container at the bottom of the lake that contains the Manticore gauntlets diagram. If you have found all of the previous Manticore Gear diagrams up to this point, the Scavenger Hunt will conclude. Now that you have obtained the diagrams for a full Manticore Gear set, bring them back to Lafargue to unlock him as a Grandmaster craftsman. If Manticore isn’t your style, keep in mind that there are Grandmaster versions of the other Witcher Gear types as well.
