Connectivity between Pokemon Go and Pokemon Home is rolling out incrementally to all Trainers based on a current Trainer level. You will use a new feature in Pokemon Go called the Go Transporter to transfer Pokemon to Home. Every time you transfer a Pokemon, some energy will be drained from the Go Transporter. The energy used by the Go Transporter recharges over time, but it can also be replenished with PokeCoins. The energy cost to use the Go Transporter to transfer Pokemon varies depending on the Pokemon.
To celebrate, when you transfer a Pokemon you will receive the Mythical Pokemon Melmetal. This Pokemon can Gigantamax in any battle in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield that allows it. Melmetal can be received as a Mystery Gift in the mobile device version of Pokemon Home. You can then use the Switch version of Pokemon Home to transfer this Melmetal to Pokemon Sword and Shield. After transferring a Pokemon, open the Mystery Box in Go and the Mythical Pokemon Meltan will appear on the map for a limited time. You can evolve Meltan into Melmetal by gathering 400 Meltan Candy. For all the details on how to use Pokemon Home with Pokemon Go, and for information on certain restrictions, Nintendo has a guide. In order to transfer Pokemon from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Home, you will need to have completed the tutorial for the mobile device version of Home. Pokemon transferred from Go to Home cannot be returned to Pokemon Go, and certain special Pokemon cannot be transferred to Home.
