Almost five years after the release of Splatoon 2, it was revealed in the February 2022 Nintendo Direct that the game would be returning for a third time. Set in the sun scorched Splatlands and the new city, Splatsville, players will pick up the splatguns again along with exciting new weapons and moves for more colourful encounters. So far, we know that there’ll be a story mode where you take control of Agent 3 and fight against the evil Octarian, and there’s also going to be a co-op mode....

Square Enix has kicked off another Stay Home & Play campaign, and this time out you can grab 54 games in one bundle for $39.24. 100% of the revenue from this bundle will be distributed to charities across North America and Europe. The bundle contains games from the franchises Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Legacy of Kain, Dungeon Siege, and more. If you bought all the games separately, you would be dishing out $784....

Originally slated to release on April 28, the studio said it will spend the additional seven months to fulfill its vision and achieve the desired state of the game. Calling the game its biggest project in the history of the studio, GSC Game World said the game will require thorough testing and polishing, so development should take “as long as necessary” to release a properly finished product. In Stalker 2, the Zone will be yours to explore as a post-apocalyptic open-world and one of the biggest ones to date for the series....

Star Fox Adventures is another game in that pantheon – and as I reconsidered this unique little tile as it turns 20 years old, I realized two things: first, the march of time is crushing and I feel ancient. Second: this is sadly the last great Star Fox game, at least for now. Which is funny when you think about it, as Star Fox Adventures didn’t even begin life as a Star Fox game....

Over on Grubb’s Grubbsnax, the reporter talked about the latest thing he’s heard about this sequel, that we have known about for a little while now. “Star Wars Jedi 2 is going to be new-gen only, where it’s PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and then of course PC,” Grubb said (transcribed by VGC). “One of the reasons that they’re going to be able to do that is because it’s not coming out until 2023....

News of the latest milestone for the game was revealed on the game’s website. While the game remains popular with players, it appears that further update may or may not be developed for the game as its creator, Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has shifted focus on his lated project. Speaking with Zach “UnsurpassableZ” Hartman on Twitch following the Stardew Valley Cup, Barone said he didn’t “know at this point” whether another update would be released for his debut game due to being busy on the upcoming game (via Eurogamer)....

Update 1.5 is currently in the works, indie dev Eric Barone wrote on his Twitter account. And while he has yet to reveal exactly what is in store, you can expect the free content update to be quite hefty if Update 1.4 is anything to go by. Update 1.4 introduced a new end-game mystery involving Stardew Valley’s ever-mysterious abandoned building, new ways of interacting with your spouse, fish ponds, a big multiplayer-friendly map and gameplay improvements....

Even if you hustled and managed to get a highly sought-after pre-order for Valve’s punchy little handheld PC in when they went live earlier this year, you’re going to have to wait until 2022 to actually get your hands on the device. Your Christmas may be a bit quieter, then, since the machine was supposed to start shipping in December. If you want to point fingers at something for ruining the holidays, blame the on-going global supply chain crisis....

Earlier this week (April 12), Sucker Punch released patch 2.18 for Ghost of Tsushima, and according to the developer, it has no more plans for patches. In the patch notes, Sucker Punch said it isn’t “actively working on any additional patches at the moment,” though it did say that it would “monitor feedback on the community-run Gotlegends subreddit,” and any messages sent to the studio’s Twitter account for any big bugs or issues....

Minecraft’s Steve and Alex will join the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster on October 13, Nintendo announced today. The release date was announced during a special stream today featuring Masahiro Sakurai. Steve and Alex will feature two color variations each for a total of six. When selecting this new fighter, players will be able to choose between a Steve or Alex skin, and can also choose to look like the Zombie or Enderman characters when playing....

The report comes from Axios Gaming’s newsletter, with sources claiming that The Quarry as well as the recently announced High On Life, originally had involvement from Google in both games’ development process. However, Stadia has downsized quite a bit, so this obviously isn’t the case anymore. According to one representative of The Quarry publisher Take Two, the studio “was looking for a publishing partner as the project came to completion,” also making a point of how the publisher was proud to help release the title....

According to Nintendo, overall sales fell 4.7% to $2.3 billion. There were noted declines in both the video game platform and mobile sectors. The former saw a decline of 4.3%, while mobile, IP-related income fell 16.8%. In hardware, Switch sales declined 22.9% to 3.43 million units partially due to the addition of the Nintendo Switch – OLED Model with its high unit price to the hardware lineup. But Nintendo said that factors such as the global shortage of semiconductor components impacted production, resulting in a decrease in hardware shipments and a subsequent decline in overall sales....

Since the original release of Synthetik in 2018, Flow Fire has continued to work on the excellent top-down rogue-like tactical shooter, adding new free content in the form of the Legion Rising expansion, rebalancing classes, tuning weapons, and touching up difficulty. Behind-the-scenes, the team has been working on bringing the game to consoles, and today is the day console players get to experience Synthetik. Well, not all console players, because the game only came out on Xbox One and the Switch eShop....

UK publisher Curve Digital and Echo Chamber Games want to encourage players of Table Manners to start donating blood in partnership with NHS Blood and Transplant’s What’s Your Type? Valentine’s campaign. Players of Table Manners will see in-game messaging encouraging them to find out their blood type as part of the campaign. Male donors are especially needed, according to NHS Blood and Transplant, especially those with O-, B- and A- blood types....

The official Borderlands Twitter account revealed today that on February 17, Tales from the Borderlands will once again be for sale on digital storefronts. Set between Borderlands 2 and 3, the game is a five-part episodic game series that follows the stories of Rhys and Fiona. Developed by Telltale Games, you will venture across Pandora after the events seen in Borderlands 2, playing as the aforementioned characters. “Thrown together as unwilling partners in an adventure to recover cash they both think is theirs, their journey will take you on a wild ride where gangsters, bandit lords, and Vault Hunters are just some of the obstacles you’ll encounter, in this new take on the award-winning universe created by Gearbox Software....

Japanese developer Team Ninja has said that code for some entries in the Ninja Gaiden series is unable to be recovered. Speaking to Polygon, producer Fumihiko Yasuda said that the studio was “unable to salvage” Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden 2 for the upcoming remaster release, Master Collection. This compilation includes the Sigma editions of the first two entries in the franchise, as well as Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge....

The Thrillseekers event is coming to Apex Legends, and it includes a new Arenas map, weekly rewards tracks, and some new looks. Kicking off next week on July 13, the Thrillseekers event will feature the new Overflow map, which is lane-focused and each area is separated by lava-filled structures. Combat on this map tends to favor short to medium ranges along with POI: Slope or Overlook. Overlook is a long, open area with a height advantage, while Slope offers high grounds which can be used for flanks or defensive setups....

The season will consist of 12 episodes ruinng at 12 minutes each. Based on the award-winning video game, The Cuphead Show is character-driven comedy series following themisadventures of Cuphead and his cautious brother Mugman. As the two scour their homeworld of the Inkwell Isles in search of fun and adventure, the show will combine nostalgic delights, gags, and include the duo’s ridiculously weird nemesis, The Devil himself, who arrives on the scene mess with our heroes....

As part of a call with investors following Ubisoft’s Q3 FY2020-21 earnings reveal, way back in February, Ubisoft said that new The Division content was supposedly on the way in both 2021 and 2022. It looks like the publisher may have spoken too soon, though, as this week the French company has announced that it will nudge the content drop into next February in order to ensure it is delivered “on par with [its] vision”....
