One in which I go from hating Elden Ring to loving it? No. This is all a terrible accident. I’m not a trophy hunter. Rather, I use trophies to motivate me to return to games I love – and it happens that I loved the majority of From Software game since Demon’s Souls and platinumed them all....

Microsoft has made a tiny, easy-to-miss addition to the back of both Xbox Series X and Series S, which will no doubt go a long way in helping make the console more accessible. The platform holder’s accessibility team managed to get the design team to place tactile indicators above the various ports on the back of the console. The goal was to help the blind easily discern which port their finger is hovering over anytime they need to connect the console, as revealed by inclusivity lead Bryce Johnson and accessibility program manager Kaitlyn Jones in a series of Tweets....

Announced during today’s ID@Xbox Twitch Gaming Showcase, Death’s Door features a quirky and curious world where crows are in charge of collecting the souls of the dead. The job gets a bit out of the ordinary when your assigned soul is stolen and you must track down a thief to a realm untouched by death. Here, creatures grow past their expiry and “overflow with greed and power.” Venturing forth from the Hall of Doors, you will explore a land full of inhabitants and countless secrets, “bringing hope” to the characters you’ll meet along the way....

Developer Arkane has been revealing more and more about Redfall since, including how co-op is going to work. In an interview with IGN, creative director Harvey Smith revealed how Redfall is going to handle co-op progression. This is something every game treats differently, and there’s typically no golden answer. Smith confirmed that in a co-op game, only the host of that session will be making story progress. In other words, you’ll have to go back to your own game and replay the same mission again to progress your own story....

Two new Nintendo-themed Lego sets have reached the level of support where they will now be sent to the Lego company’s internal product review board - with that review set to determine if the sets will become real Lego products or not. The sets, based on The Legend of Zelda’s Hyrule Castle and Samus Aran’s space ship from Metroid, are fan-designed as part of the Lego Ideas program. Ideas allows fans to submit their own custom Lego set designs to an official community website....

Developer Camouflaj announced today it has delayed its PlayStation VR-exclusive, Iron Man VR, from February 28 to May 15. Releasing August 23, provided during the latest Letter from the Producer Live broadcast presented by producer and director Naoki Yoshida, the news was accompanied by a new trailer and information on the latest chapter that includes fresh battle challenges and the Island Sanctuary. During the broadcast, Yoshida offered viewers a demonstration of Island Sanctuary, a new type of casual solo content that allows you to build and customize your own farm on a deserted island....

A new rating for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time – which launched last week on PS4 and Xbox One – has been listed for Xbox Series X on the ‘Platforms’ section of the ERSB ratings page (thanks GamesRadar). It stands to reason that the game coming to Xbox Series X also implies the existence of the game on PS5, too – there is no currently-known platform exclusivity deal with this title....

The month is headlined by the feline adventure game Stray, which makes its debut as part of the catalog. Included this month is Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, Marvel’s Avengers, five Assassin’s Creed titles, and two Saints Row titles. The Assassin’s Creed titles are: Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered, Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry, and Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection. The Saints Row titles are Re-Elected and Gat out of Hell....

I was even more insufferable with The Lost World. Having this time read the book before seeing the film, I had hugely high expectations that were proverbially shat on by a Triceratops when I saw the disappointing Spielberg movie. Then the less said about the later films the better (although I found Jurassic World to be OK, actually). And that sort of sums up a lot of the actions in the films: people doing bad or stupid things that simply don’t make sense....

The Japanese industry conference is going to be held digitally between September 30 and October 3, and you can expect some big festivities as this is going to be the 25th anniversary of the show. As per a full lisitng on the event’s official website, we can determine that there’s going to be quite a few updates on games we already know are coming to market. After a keynote (assuringly titled ‘We’ll always have games’) a couple of developers and publishers are set to take to the stage....

I coined Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe as the Kirby co-op game for Switch that we both need and deserve, and while I likely won’t jump into it right away, it is a game that I’m excited to pull out whenever I have friends over. With new Copy abilities to experiment with, I’m even more excited to know that when I do pick up the game, there’ll be something new for me to rejoice over....

The folks at Riot Games appear to understand the environment they’re walking into; R&D Projects that end up greenlit and pushed into the forefront. The first ever bit of news we ever saw with Project L revolved around the esteemed and experienced staff that were leading development, a strategy Riot had previously used before with Legends of Runeterra and Valorant, which championed big names in their respective genres. This, as it was obviously intended to do, made every 30+ year old buster with an arcade stick a little hot around the collar....

Like many other Lego video games, The Skywalker Saga is an action adventure title, where you’re tasked with smashing through enemies and objects with your lightsaber, and finding collectibles as you go along. There’s also going to be guaranteed charm and slapstick humour that the Lego video games are known for. Also, Skywalker Saga supports local co-op on all platforms, so you don’t have to be alone when you’re having fun as one of the hundreds of playable characters....

The G332 have some features that are found only in more premium, expensive headsets. For example, the leatherette ear cups and headband add greater comfort, important when you’re in a long session of Call of Duty or Fortnite. The ear cups also rotate, adding flexibility as well as rigidity to the headset’s design. By swivelling 90 degrees, you’ll be sure not to damage them folding them away when storing them in your backpack....

References to the Star Wars prequel tie-in have been dug up by (in)famous dataminer @NWPlayer123, suggesting that we’re likely to see the cult classic arrive on the Nintendo Switch sooner rather than later. The data on the site seems to suggest that Aspyr Media will be handling development duties, which makes sense – the studio has previously dealt with other modern Star Wars ports of classic games, including colon-greedy titles like Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy and Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, and Star Wars Episode 1: Racer....

Twitter account psnrelease2 – site that combs the PlayStation databases to look for new launcehs and releases added to the PlayStation backend – was able to find a reference to the upcoming RPG that looks a lot like a demo. A file name for something called Lost Judgment: Unjudged Memory Trial Version was discovered in Japanese PSN (cheers, GamesRadar). If the leak is reliable and acutally hints that a slice of the game is coming to the PlayStation Network, we could see a demo appear in the Japan/Asia regions soon....

Mafia: Trilogy is a thing. It’s being announced on May 19, but it sort of got announced today in a teaser trailer that says it’s being announced properly on May 19. The teaser seems to show the three Mafia games released so far - some kind of trilogy or collection of similar works - and they might have improved graphics or they might not.
