The upcoming Mortal Kombat movie apparently goes “right to the limit” of what it can get away with in terms of violence. That’s according to director Simon McQuoid, who told SFX Magazine – as reported by GamesRadar – that it takes its R rating seriously. Apparently, there’s stuff like someone ripping a foe’s heart out. You know, normal, cool stuff. “We wanted to push the [blood, gore and fatalities] right to the limit,” McQuoid said....

Because of this, much of the previously released DLC only available through BioWare Points can now be acquired free of charge (via reddit.) This means that if you own Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 2, or Mass Effect 3 on Origin, you get the DLC for no charge (thanks, GamesRadar). The only items not available for free are the multiplayer packs for Mass Effect 3. If you have some spare BioWare Points, you can use these to purchase the packs until October 11....

Square Enix officially announced that the cult classic Nintendo DS game will get a sequel, some 14 years after the original title arrived on Western shores. Neo: The World Ends With You – which is sticking to Square Enix’s awkward naming conventions – is set to release in Summer 2021 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch, and will introduce an entirely new cast of characters to the series. Prospective New Pokemon Snap players can get an early look at what’s to come with a new interactive site. The Explore the Lental Region site has launched and offers details about the Lental region and its wild Pokemon. It allows you to click through eight spots on the site’s map to learn about different interactions with the creatures and habitats in the game. You can also earn My Nintendo Platinum Points which can be redeemed for various rewards, including upcoming items for the game....

According to a Nikkei report, Nintendo is no longer shipping Switch systems in Japan as it is unable to keep up with demand. Part of the reason can be blamed on supply chain disruptions caused by the coronavirus, according to a person familiar with Nintendo speaking with the outlet. No date was given for the shipments to resume, and at present, Nintendo is only shipping systems out to those with reservations in Japan....

Meanwhile, a rumour about Suda51’s Killer7 coming to Switch was recently debunked, leaving fans sorely disappointed after having their hopes dashed. Although Suda51 has said that he wants all of his games to make it to Switch, a spokesperson for the team working on the PC version of Killer7 said that there are currently no plans for a Switch port....

In a new interview with Polygon, Bowser stated that “we believe we’re just at the midpoint of this life cycle on [the Nintendo Switch] platform,” when asked about the likelihood of an upgraded Switch model coming to retail. Bowser also – finally – gave a definitive answer on the long-rumored Switch Pro hardware upgrade that’s apparently been in the works at Nintendo for the last few years: it’s not something Nintendo is focusing on in the immediate future....

Koei Tecmo and Sony have announced the Last Chance Trial for Nioh 2. Available on PS4 February 28 to March 1, the trial is your last chance to play the game - for free - ahead of its launch in March. The demo does not require PlayStation Plus, and includes three missions. It also comes with the game’s expanded character creator, which lets you bring your trial creations into the main game when it launches....

Nintendo has announced a release date for No More Heroes 3 as part of its big Direct presentation overnight. The game will be available on Switch on August 27. As revealed in the game’s latest trailer, No More Heroes 3 pits series protagonist Travis Touchdown against aliens. Touchdown returns from a ten-year break to find that aliens have invaded Earth. In typical whacky Suda51 magic, the aliens are holding a tournament to rank Earth’s superheroes and determine the planet’s fate....

The new hero, Kiriko, will arrive alongside the game at release. As the newest Support hero, the character can teleport through walls to protect teammates using a healing ofuda. Kiriko can also dash towards enemies to take them out with a kunai. When it comes to the Season One Battle Pass, Blizzard said it will be “delivering more in one drop” than it has delivered since the original game relesed in 2016....
