The Android and iOS game Marvel Future Revolution will launch globally on August 25. Global pre-registration is now open via the App Store and Google Play, where players can receive a pre-registration costume gift box that will grant a full costume set of in-game cosmetic items for one of the starting heroes. This is Marvel’s first open-world mobile game, and it features an original storyline inspired by decades of Marvel storytelling and some fan-favorite characters....

After reports of Gaynor perpetuating a toxic work environment surfaced via a report from Polygon, Fullbright issued a statement noting that Gaynor stepped away from his joint roles back in March of this year. While he will remain a writer on the studio’s upcoming game Open Roads, he will not have day-to-day interactions with staffers. Modder T0ST has published an article digging into the infamously appalling loading times in GTA Online. After doing some research and writing a unique program to interact with the game files, T0ST managed to reduce loading times by as much as 70%. Turns out that the game doesn’t necessarily struggle to load thanks to its open-world nature, but because there’s a CPU bottleneck that will be most felt on low- or mid-tier PCs, as well as a JSON parser that is apparently poorly implemented and can’t really deal with the 10MB JSON database the game needs to read in order to open up properly....

Take-Two, the parent company of GTA Online developer Rockstar, revealed as part of its Q1 earnings call that the game is getting new content exclusive to PS5, Xbox Series X and PC. The new content will arrive sometime in 2021. GTA 5, of course, was previously announced for PS5 and later Xbox Series X, due for release in the second half of the the year. A standalone version of GTA Online is also due out in the same period on next-gen consoles....

Guilty Gear Strive developer Arc System Works has this morning announced that the anticipated fighting game is being pushed back to June 11, a two-months delay. The developer revealed the news in a note posted to Twitter, calling out things like online lobbies and server stability as areas in need of some extra work. “Since we have received valuable feedback after the recent open beta test, we would like to make the most of this opportunity to provide the best game possible....

The open beta for Guilty Gear Strive will start on February 19, Bandai Namco has announced. As mentioned above, if you pr-ordered any digital version of the game, you can jump into the open beta two days early on February 17. For everyone else, you can download it on February 18, but it won’t be playable until the servers go live on the 19th. The open beta will run through February 21....

A new listing for MCC recently appeared on the Microsoft Store, as reported by TrueAchievements, Apparently, Xbox Game Pass holders are already being presented with the option to install Halo: CE, although the report notes that this has only resulted in download errors so far. As for the listing itself, details are still relatively sparse. Aside from some general notes about how the games will roll out in chronological order (obviously) and how the collection will feature over 120 multiplayer maps (also obvious if you wanted to count the amount of maps in each of the six games from Reach through Halo 4, but far less so if you’re not arsed)....
