Rumours about some sort of Prince of Persia remake getting announced at Ubisoft Forward today have been swirling for a while. At one point, it was believed to be a remake of the original, classic game. Now, it’s clear that Ubisoft is actually working on a remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the beloved 2003 action platformer most of us remember as their first PoP game. The Russian Uplay store leaked the game with the help of a banner, and a brief video....
Going by the title “Oregon” on SteamDB (thanks, resetera), the listing has various tags attached which describe the game perfectly. Tags include: female protagonist, bullet-hell, single-player, third-person shooter, and roguelike among others. If accurate, a PC release for Returnal isn’t too surprising since Sony has warmed up to the idea of releasing its games on the platform of late. Plus, the game was just one of many included in the massive Nvidia leak from last year....

Typically, Sony sends an email to the account linked to your PSN, and you can redeem rewards from there. Ubisoft has announced a new limited-time event for Rainbow Six Siege. Kicking off today and available until August 24, the event is dubbed Containment, and it’s taking some inspiration from the co-op focused Rainbow Six Extraction, which recently got pushed back to 2022. As is typically the case with Siege events, Containment is introducing a new PvP game mode available only for the duration of the event. Called Nest Destruction, the new mode takes place on a modified version of the game’s Consulate map, now overrun with the Chimera Parasite at the heart of Extraction’s story....
For the past three days now, fans have taken Rockstar to task on the social network, drawing attention to their chagrin with the hashtag “SaveRedDeadOnline” which has been trending. As of press time, there are over 18,200 tweets using the hashtag. The issue with players is the lack of new updates for the game, as the last bit of new content dropped in July 2021. Called Blood Money, it added homestead robberies and the task of recovering private bonds known as Capitale....

It has added 10 new Ranks of progression on top of the 20 from the Bounty Hunter Role Ranks with high-level items and skills to acquire. You can also expect new weapon variants and horses, Infamous Bounty targets on the Bounty Boards, and more. You can purchase it from any Bounty Board and if you reach Bounty Hunter Rank 30, you’ll continue to accumulate Bounty Hunter XP....
The open-world, co-op first-person shooter from Arkane Austin will be released on May 2 for PC and X box Series X/S. You can play it day one with Game Pass. Along with the release date today, members of the team behind Prey and Dishonored shared a gameplay deep dive of the vampire slaying title. In the game, you can dispatch vampires alone or with other in four-player co-op. You will need to choose a path, and cut through the vampire masses as you discover what caused a plague of bloodsuckers to take over the island....

After how well Henry Cavill transitioned from Superman to Witcher, it seems Rocksteady is trying to achieve the same magical success from going in the opposite direction....
Earlier this week, some images leaked of a supposed Silent Hill reboot were taken down via DMCA by Konami. While it can’t be confirmed if these images are real or not, the take downs certainly are suspicious. And now YouTuber NateTheHate has claimed that a remake of Silent Hill 2 is in development, as well as multiple other Silent Hill projects. According to NateTheHate, this supposed remake will have reworked puzzles, new endings, and would be a timed PlayStation console exclusive....

A beta will be held for Systemic Reaction’s new shooter Second Extinction. Announced this week for Xbox One and Xbox Series X, the game is also coming to PC and you can sign up for the beta. Thanks to the reveal of Battlefield 2042, the amount of players itching for some modern combat has surged, causing the servers for Battlefield 4 to reach capacity, making queue times far longer in certain regions. To stop any more issues from coming about due to the deluge, EA has taken steps to help combat long queues (thanks, Neowin). “We were absolutely blown away by your excitement and reactions to the recent Battlefield 2042 reveal,” said EA community manager Straatford....
Those hoping for solid Xbox news will be disappointed. While Crea-ture Studios has a partner for the Xbox port - Illogika will be handling duties - it’s still only pegged as a “spring” release. The better news is that Session now supports a new control system similar to EA’s venerable Skate franchise. It’s still in its early stages and Crea-ture warns that some tricks such as grinds and willys won’t be working yet....
Alongside news of Shadow Warrior 3 coming to PS4 and Xbox One as well as the previously announced PC version, a new trailer showing the Doomsday Device mission was released (thanks, Gematsu). After being canceled by its original publisher in 2009, the tactical military shooter Six Days in Fallujah is now back in development thanks to Highwire Games, a studio comprised of ex-Halo and Destiny developers. You’d think a game about a real-life warzone would be political by its very nature, but apparently, the development studio and publisher behind the project are trying to approach it from an apolitical angle. In an interview with Polygon, publisher Victura boss, Peter Tamte, explained that the purpose of bringing Six Days in Fallujah back from obscurity is to highlight “the complexity of urban combat” by letting us see the world from the perspective of boots-on-the-ground soldiers....

According to the announcement, the minority stake purchased in Epic Games by Sony aims to “broaden their collaboration” and cement the already “close relationship between the two companies.” The statement says the investment reinforced the companies’ “shared mission to advance the state of the art in technology, entertainment, and socially-connected online services.” “Epic’s powerful technology in areas such as graphics places them at the forefront of game engine development with Unreal Engine and other innovations," said Kenichiro Yoshida, Chairman, President, and CEO of Sony Corporation....
