Traditionally, Tier 1 subscriptions on Twitch have set you back a flat $4.99 fee – no matter where you are in the world. Now, in efforts to make things fairer on the international community, Twitch has announced most territories outside the US will see lower costs for subscriptions. Turkey (9.90 TRY) and Mexico (48 Pesos) will be the first territories to see this change on May 20 before Asia, Latin America, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East see the impact of the rollout by Q3 2021....

Today, Ubisoft announced the closed beta has been postponded in order for the team behind it to deliver “the best experience possible.” The first closed test was set to run October 14-21 for PC players. Developed by Ubisoft Bucharest, which previously worked on Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint, the game offers a new way for you to explore franchise’s universe, with a free-to-play, 100+ players, PvP first-person military experience....

Last year, we learned that the studio behind the oft-delayed Skull & Bones,Ubisoft Singapore, was under investigation for workplace discrimination, after the TAFEP recieved anonymous complaints from staff about sexual harassment and workplace misconduct. Now, the investigation is concluded, and the TAFEP has found Ubisoft to have a structured system in place to handle any workplace misconduct reports, and noted that past reports were also handled appropriately. Ubisoft added that its Singapore studio has also appointed a third-party consultancy firm to review the company’s salary structure....

During the publisher’s full-year earnings call that took place on Tuesday, Ubisoft noted that it wants to put less focus on its triple-A release and shift to a strategy that relies more on free-to-play games instead (and it’s not the first time we’ve heard the company say this). “In line with the evolution of our high-quality line-up that is increasingly diverse, we are moving on from our prior comment regarding releasing 3-4 premium AAAs per year,” Ubisoft’s chief financial officer, Frederick Duguet, explained during the call....

Away from the headline-grabbing, corporate-dominated news, the indie scene continues to quietly chug along with its own super event: PAX Online x EGX Digital. The show runs until Sunday, so we decided to dedicate one more episode of our hidden indie gems feature to games showing new stuff there. As with last week’s episode, many of the games have limited-time demos available only during PAX Online x EGX Digital. If you’re eager to do some humongous terrain-based projects in Valheim, you’re going to want to pay attention to the game’s latest update. Though the last patch tweaked Hammer, Hoe and Cultivator timings, this new update (version 0.150.3) does some slightly more in-depth rejigging to the game’s suite of customization tools. “The new terrain modification system is made to reduce the number of network instances and make loading faster and smoother,” the Valheim developer posted in an update explaining the nuances of the new patch....

Originally slated to lauch in late 2021, Steam Deck was delayed to February 2022 due to global supply chain issues and material shortages. According to Valve, it will be sending out the first batch of order emails to reservation holders. Customers will have three days from receipt of their order email to make their purchase before their reservation is released to the next person in the queue. The first units will be on their way to customers starting February 28 and the plan is to release new order emails in batches on a weekly basis....

Previously known as SteamPal, which was probably the working name, Steam Deck is slated to start shipping in December. For Steam Deck, Valve partnered with AMD to create the handheld’s custom APU, which is being called “Zen 2 + RDNA 2 powerhouse,” promising more than enough performance to run the latest triple-A games in a “very efficient power envelope.” With the handheld, you can take your Steam library on the go just like you would with a PC or laptop....

The launch of Season 3 in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War introduced its share of problems to the games, as players have come to expect. One of those affected the Hunt for Adler in-game event, which kicked off alongside the season. The event’s structure was fairly simple: asking players to complete basic tasks in either Black Ops Cold War multiplayer, or Warzone. Unfortunately, the Warzone portion of the event didn’t work as intended....

It’s never going to be easy to improve on a phenomenon like Modern Warfare, but Black Ops Cold War is certainly giving it a good shot. Square Enix Presents will air today at 12:15 PT / 3:15pm ET / 8:15pm UK / 9:15pm CEST as a Keynote during the all-digital E3 2021 event, as well as on Square Enix’s official Twitch and YouTube channels. The stream will last around 40 minutes and will include the world premiere of a new game from Deus Ex studio Eidos Montreal, and an update on Babylon’s Fall from Platinum Games....

The roundtable featuring key members of each team will kick off at 10am PDT, 1pm EST, 6pm UK, 7pm CEST. We’re not quite sure what all will be discussed, likely just the various Bestheda teams coming into the fold, and more on what it means for games being developed going forward. To celebrate the launch of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 Remastered, the Birdman’s team set up a pretty cool stunt for the celebrity skater – dressing his ramp up with the iconic gold letters from the game for him to collect. The S-K-A-T-E letters are an enduring part of the THPS series – in-game, you’re tasked with collecting the letters that are scattered around each map in order to complete a challenge....

Resetera forum member DriftingOrbit discovered a number of recent domain registrations by Warner Bros., the publisher that owns Rocksteady, WB Montreal and other studios. More specifically, the user dug up three domains for what could be the publisher’s next couple of games. The first is the most straightforward; suicidesquadgame.com. Another domain, likely for the same game, is suicidesquadkillthejusticeleague.com. Then there’s a third, at gothamknightsgame.com, which may be for a different game....

Dubbed Nimpossible Mode, manual saving will not possible. Instead, the game will auto-save your progress, and you can play and reload from that single dedicated auto-save slot only. Nimp Heads you find during your Journeys will allow you to resurrect, but once you are out of Nimp Heads, death is permanent and the auto-save file is deleted. With Nimpossible Mode comes some side content only available in the mode. The content will support the lore around the resurrection process and the deal struck with the Wanderers....

Last year, Wizards of the Coast put former Bioware developer James Ohlen in charge of Archetype Entertainment, which is developing a multiplatform sci-fi RPG. Archetype Entertainment is an Austin-based studio founded in 2019. Bioware’s former head of live services, Chad Robertson, is the general manager. Former BioWare writer Drew Karpyshyn will work as lead writer. Ohlen worked at Bioware for 22 years and had a hand in titles such as Dragon Age: Origins, Neverwinter Nights, and KOTOR....

So, gather your friends and allies and make ready to heed the call of the dragons because the World of Warcraft: Dragonflight expansion goes live on November 28. The Dragonflight expansion takes you to the Dragon Isles, where you will explore four new zones themed around the dragon aspects: the Waking Shores, the Ohn’ahran Plains, the mountainous Azure Span, and the Thaldraszus. When the expansion releases, you can expect eight dungeons, four of which are level-up dungeons and four are maximum-level dungeons....

Bugbear Entertainment has announced that upgrading to the PS5 version will set you back $9.99 – or you can choose to buy it for $39.99 instead, if you’d prefer. The update introduces a “wonderful 4K resolution at a smooth 60 frames per second” and brings multiplayer support for up to 24 players, too. PS5 players will also get to feel the Dualsense controllers’ haptic feedback in action, as well as enjoy additional foliage, improved lighting effects, and visual effects for skidmarks....
