IO Interactive says by the end of February, PC players on Steam will be able to port their Hitman 2 levels into Hitman 3. This means that the solution to bring Hitman 2 levels from Steam into Hitman 3 through the Epic Games Store seems to be worked out. Previously, the ability to import locations was not workable. “Whilst we’ve been busy launching Hitman 3, we’ve also been working on the promised solution for allowing PC players to import locations that they already own into the game on Epic,” reads the forum post from IO. “We’ve got that solution worked out and it’s currently being tested and verified from all angles to make it as robust as possible. “In terms of timing, it’s definitely a case of sooner rather than later. Even with the longest estimates we’ve looked at, the solution will be fully rolled out before the end of February. We’ll keep you updated with the next steps.” Back in January before release, quite a stir was caused when it was revealed that Hitman 2 owners would have to re-purchase it, due to issues with transferring the licenses from Steam to the Epic Store. IO had stated the ability to transfer content from both Hitman and Hitman 2 into the new game would be free. The studio quickly issued a statement stating that paying for the games again would not be the case for current players, as it was working on a solution to import locations from the games at no additional cost.
