According to the latest Famitsu numbers, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has sold 3,031,784 physical copies in Japan since it released on March 20. That’s up considerably from the 1.88 million it sold its first three days on the market in the region (thanks, Gematsu). Famitsu only reports physical copies, so you know once digital copies are taken into account the figure will be higher. If you are looking to compare figures, juggernauts Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Pokemon Sword and Shield have sold 3.6 million and 3.5 million copies lifetime, respectively, in the region. Nintendo has yet to announce worldwide figures for the game, but it will report its year-end financials on May 7, so we’ll likely get a firm sales figure at that time.
