Nintendo is reportedly working on an updated model of its Nintendo Switch, with plans to release sometime this year, according to Taiwanese publication DigiTimes (by way of Polygon). News of the updated Switch model comes from DigiTimes’ sources on the upstream supply chain. The new Nintendo Switch will apparently begin production at the end of the first-quarter of 2020 - that likely means sometime in March - before it gets an official release in mid-2020. It has previously been rumoured for some time that Nintendo has been planning a Switch Pro, which could feature a bigger screen and higher res gaming. Likewise, last year Wall Street Journal writer Takashi Mochizuki reported two new models of Switch were in the works: Still, details of the new model are pretty scant. We’ve reached out to Nintendo for comment.
