Coming March 2 is Madden NFL 21, and later in March, you can expect Star Wars: Squadrons. In April, NHL 21 will arrive on the service. Pro members will also get the chance to play the upcoming co-op game, It Takes Two, starting March 26....

The Marvel’s Avengers beta, which was teased back at the game’s reveal, has finally been dated and detailed. Developer Crystal Dynamics is planning three sessions of the same beta. The first is exclusive to PS4 players who pre-ordered the full game, kicking off August 7. A week later, on August 14, anyone on PS4 will be able to jump in, but only those who pre-ordered on PC and Xbox One can join them....
Marvel’s Avengers hosted its first ever beta on PC (and Xbox) over the weekend, which has unsurprisingly lead to some discoveries by people with the know-how. In other words: dataminers have been having a ball digging through the game’s files to reveal a number of potential future characters. The discoveries are split into two sections, one covers characters referred to in the code as “playable unlocked” and another that ties certain items to some of the leaked characters....

Late last week, a series of images leaked revealing various details about Marvel’s Midnight Suns, most notably a release date of October 7. Now, thanks to a formal reveal at Summer Games Fest, we know this for definite.. Spider-Man and Scarlet Witch join the fray, both of them obviously sporting a new look to match everyone else. We also get to see Venom being persuaded over to the side of the villains, unsurprsingly, and Hulk even gets a new bad-guy look, now complete with some gnarly horns....
“We have made the decision to move back the launch timing of Marvel’s Midnight Suns to ensure the teams at Firaxis Games and 2K deliver the best possible experience for our fans,” said the game’s publisher in a press release before the Take-Two quarterly earnings call on August 8. “The title will launch later this fiscal year on Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5." So, expect a new release date to land any time between November and the end of March 2023 (it’ll likely be towards the latter end of that spectrum, let’s be honest)....

That’s according to engineer Bill Ridmann, who replied to a thread on Reddit – as spotted by Pure Xbox – from a poster warning that players can be vulnerable to distributed denial of service (DDOS) attacks from other users via the peer-to-peer system employed on Xbox Live. This means that bad actors can bombard people’s internet address with data and take them offline. Ridmann posted that Microsoft is in the process of completely moving Xbox’s party system to a server-based platform, which will make it much more secure....

Microsoft has announced that it’s using Project xCloud to allow developers to create and test games remotely. Most of Microsoft’s development tools are designed to be run locally, and those that offer remote access only do so within the office environment. But, seeing as everyone is working from home right now, Microsoft decided to basically allow developers to remotely tune and test games on development kits that sit in its server racks....
Just like last year, Microsoft decided to use the opportunity of Sony not participating in E3 to reiterate that its own E3 plans are big. Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, said on Twitter that the Xbox team will be sharing with fans “what’s ahead of us” at E3, adding that meeting and talking to fans is a “special” part of the E3 experience.
