Shortly after Valheim developer Iron gate announced that the game had sold more than 3 million copies in a little over two weeks, the survival game got another boost in active players. After shooting up to Steam’s top-three most played games at launch, with over 367,443 players at peak concurrent, the game has now smashed that already impressive figure over the course of last week and again on the weekend....
Via the PlayValorant blog, design lead for the maps team, Joe “Pearl Hogbash” Lansford, explained the decision. After the introduction of Fracture last year, it appears the Valorant team were very excited to finally have seven maps in rotation. Having seven maps would allow tournament best-of-5’s to be able to select two map bans and then play out their tourney without repeating any maps. The introduction of PEARL means that the map pool now consists of eight different maps....

Today, Nvidia will finally unveil the GeForce RTX 3000 series, the consumer line of GPUs based on its new Ampere architecture. During its first Nintendo Direct of the year, Nintendo announced Pyra/Mythra were coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and today we’ll find out more. Originally featured in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 as main character Rex’s two-in-one ally, Pyra/Mythra is coming to the game sometime this month. The duo is part of Fighters Pass Vol. 2, which also includes DLC fighters Min Min from ARMS, Steve & Alex from Minecraft, and Sephiroth from the Final Fantasy 7 series....

Strings of the source code were posted to four different repositories on GitHub, and AMD took the threat seriously enough to issue DMCA takedown notices - and GitHub complied. According to Torrent Freak (via IGN), which spoke with the alleged hacker, the source code was “unexpectedly achieved from an unprotected computer/server through some exploits,” back in November. The individual told Torrent Freak the unencrypted package included code for Navi 10 and Navi 21 devices as well as the source code for Xbox Series X GPU Arden....
Bryce Johnson, inclusive lead at Microsoft Devices and the brain behind the Xbox Adaptive Controller, revealed the design detail on Twitter. Since December 2020, Xbox has been offering refunds to disgruntled Cyberpunk 2077 players consumers on Xbox who purchased the game on the Microsoft Store, which is against the company’s usual stance of seeing digital sales on the platform as final. Microsoft will be terminating that policy soon, though. As of July 6, Cyberpunk 2077 will be treated just like all the other games on the Microsoft Store. It’s seemingly possible to add custom characters into The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. That’s going by some posts on Twitter and Reddit by “Mii expert” HeyimHeroic/Alice, who says that the NPCs in the open-world Zelda title are an “evolution” of the Mii avatars Nintendo introduced for the Wii back in the day. As a result, it’s apparently possible to “inject” custom Miis into the game via modding....
